Notes from the artist:

"The idea for Autograph Tape was given to me by Melissa Morse. Her grandfather Ivan Bowness lived in the area. He visited various house parties in the 60s and 70s and recorded the music. These recordings are part of the music history of this area.

As a public sculpture I like the idea of commemorating the reel to reel recorder both for its unique shape and for the great job it did for preserving local music.

The sculpture will be made from steel with a dark patina to withstand the elements. The reels will rotate if touched for an interactive experience"
